General System Design

This build is designed around a 16-core Ryzen 9 9950X processor and an RTX 5070Ti 16GB video card.

Software Workload/Customer Need

This customer needed a powerful new SFF software development workstation to handle their growing professional workload that would last a long time.

This SFF PC was designed for software development and 3D rendering. The customer also preferred a very small SFF case, and was willing to make compromises on RAM and PCIe connectivity.

This build was influenced by our Ryzen 9000 SFF Workstation.

Design Rationale

  • The customer requested the Ryzen 9 9950X. This excels in both lightly-threaded and heavily-threaded workloads, and draws lower power.
  • To ensure the CPU runs at full speed, and keep the noise down, we recommended liquid cooling with a 240mm cooler.
  • The customer requested a specific case, so we needed to use an ITX motherboard with the latest chipset.
  • The customer wanted to max the build out on RAM, and we had just gained 2x64GB DDR5 non-ECC kits.
  • The customer requested a single Gen5 1TB NVME SSD.
  • The customer requested an RTX 5070Ti 16GB to effectively power their high-end monitor, and give themselves decent rendering power in the future.
  • We recommended a 1000W power supply based on the design of the build.
  • The customer requested a specific case.
