Software Workload/Customer Need

This build is designed for animators and programmers, enabling them to smoothly model, animate, program, and engineer the game.

This customer previously ordered Torvalds 1, Torvalds 2, and Torvalds 3.

Design Rationale

  • The Threadripper Pro 7975WX gave the customer a great amount of single-core performance for general use, and significant multicore performance for heavily-threaded tasks.
  • To ensure the CPU runs at full speed, liquid cooling with a 360mm liquid cooler is recommended.
  • The customer wanted a stable motherboard with a good amount of desktop functionality. They requested 10G networking, and verified that the motherboard was compatible with their PXE needs.
  • The customer requested the same memory setup from the previous order.
  • The customer requested the same storage setup from the previous order. Gen5 NVME was now the same price as Gen4, so we recommended Gen5.
  • The customer upgraded the video card from past orders, to an RTX 5090 32GB.
  • Based on the GPU upgrade, we increased the power supply to 1500W.
  • We used a larger mid-tower case to fit the build. The customer requested a model without a glass panel.
