This build is designed around a 8-core Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor and an RTX 5090 32GB video card.

Software Workload/Customer Need

This customer was looking for a new powerful computer for VR gaming.

This build was designed in particular for Digital Combat Simulator and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 via a PIMAX Crystal VR. Special attention was paid to the numerous USB ports for flight instruments, controls, cockpit, and panels.

This customer previously purchased Flight Doc.

Design Rationale

  • The Ryzen 7 9800X3D gave the customer more performance for CPU-bound workloads, over their i7-13700K.
  • To ensure the CPU runs at full speed, a 360mm cooler is recommended
  • The customer wanted a motherboard with more USB ports.
  • We used the existing 64GB of memory, to help keep costs down.
  • The customer was fine with our storage recommendation, needing more space for maps.
  • We recommended an RTX 5090 based on the requirements.
  • We recommended a 1500W power supply based on the overall design of the build.
  • We used our larger mid-tower case to fit the parts and give solid airflow.
