Design Rationale

  • The Ryzen 7 3800X gave the customer a good amount of single-core performance for editing, and multicore performance for heavily-threaded tasks.
  • To ensure the CPU runs at full speed, air cooling with a dual-tower cooler is recommended.
  • The customer wanted a stable motherboard with a good amount of desktop functionality.
  • The customer wanted at least 32GB of RAM, 64GB was an easy upgrade.
  • We reused the existing drives.
  • We used the existing video card.
  • The overall design of the build meant that a 750W power supply was recommended.
  • We used our default mid-tower case to fit the build.
  • We used our default case fans to ensure proper airflow and static pressure.
