Design Rationale

  • The i7-8700 gave the customer a great amount of single-core performance for gaming and editing, and multicore performance for heavily-threaded tasks.
  • To ensure the CPU runs at full speed, air cooling with at least a single-tower cooler is recommended. Dual-tower and liquid cooling is preferred for higher-end CPUs.
  • The customer wanted a stable motherboard with a good amount of desktop functionality.
  • The customer wanted at least 32GB of RAM, 64GB was an easy upgrade.
  • The customer was fine with our recommended storage setup.
  • For a little bit of GPU acceleration and decent gaming performance, we recommended the GTX 1050Ti.
  • The overall design of the build meant that a 650W power supply was recommended.
  • We used our default mid-tower case to fit the build.
  • We used our default fans to ensure proper airflow and static pressure.
