Design Rationale

  • The i9-9900X gave the customer a good amount of single-core performance for modeling, and multicore performance for heavily-threaded tasks. The capacity to support 4 GPUs was very important.
  • To ensure the CPU runs at full speed, liquid cooling with at least a 240mm AIO was recommended.
  • The customer wanted a stable motherboard with a good amount of desktop functionality.
  • The customer wanted at least 128GB of RAM.
  • The customer was mostly fine with our recommended storage setup, only adding a 4TB HDD.
  • For a very potent GPU rendering setup, we recommended 4 RTX 2070 Supers. The 8GB VRAM limit was not a big factor at the time. The card model included a 120mm AIO, ensuring the GPUs stayed cool.
  • The overall design of the build meant that a 1600W power supply was recommended.
  • We used a large full-tower case to fit the build.
  • We used our high-end fans to ensure proper airflow and static pressure.

Customer Review

“Chris and the guys at Top Flight Computers built me a beast of a machine. After researching many companies I found Chris and he worked with me on building the best computer with the best components at the greatest price point to maximize my workflow.

He is very knowledgeable in his craft. After toying around with my new CPU in hindsight I now know that I made the correct decision to go with Chris and Top Flight Computers.

The added plus was that they live feed your build on YouTube so you get to watch and see if they mess up. No pressure! Thanks Chris!”
