Design Rationale

  • The Ryzen 9 3950X gave the customer a great amount of single-core performance for editing, and multicore performance for heavily-threaded tasks.
  • To ensure the CPU runs at full speed, liquid cooling with a 360mm AIO is recommended.
  • The customer wanted a stable motherboard with a good amount of desktop functionality.
  • The customer wanted at least 64GB of RAM, 128GB was an easy upgrade.
  • The customer was mostly fine with our default storage setup, adding twin 2TB HDDs.
  • We recommended twin RTX 2080Tis for editing and rendering performance.
  • The overall design of the build meant that a 1300W power supply was recommended.
  • We used a bigger mid-tower case to fit the build.
  • We used high-end fans to ensure proper airflow and static pressure.

Customer Review

“Before I ever indicated I wanted Chris to build me a PC he had basically given me a full customized parts list that I could have gone and built my own PC with (which I did build my own computers prior to this) — but that’s exactly the point.

I didn’t want to spend the hours researching parts, shopping around, worrying if I was getting the right thing, and then clearing out a big headache-inducing table in my house to carefully construct my most important tool. I wanted someone else to do that and Chris and his team did.

The process was smooth and hands-off for me (except of course for them taking all my initial desires in to consideration) which is exactly what I wanted. Thanks Top Flight Computers for making the experience so easy on my end.”
