Software Workload/Customer Need

This customer needed a powerful new CAD workstation to handle their growing professional workload that would last a long time.

This build was designed for Carlson and Civil 3D.

This customer previously purchased Big Bird.

Design Rationale

  • The Core Ultra 9 285K gave the customer a great amount of single-core performance for editing and modeling, and multicore performance for heavily-threaded tasks.
  • To ensure the CPU runs at full speed, liquid cooling with a 360mm liquid cooler is recommended.
  • The customer wanted a stable motherboard with a good amount of desktop functionality.
  • The customer agreed with our recommendation for memory, this gives them a great upgrade path.
  • The customer was fine with our default storage setup.
  • The customer was fine with our GPU recommendation.
  • The overall design of the build meant that a 1000W power supply was recommended.
  • We used our default mid-tower case to fit the build.
