Design Rationale

  • The Threadripper 7970X gave the customer a great amount of single-core performance for lightly-threaded workloads and multicore performance for heavily-threaded tasks.
  • To ensure the CPU runs at full speed, liquid cooling with a 360mm liquid cooler is recommended.
  • The customer wanted a stable motherboard with a good amount of desktop functionality, and an upgrade path.
  • The customer was fine with our default memory, 384GB was an easy upgrade.
  • The customer was fine with our default storage setup.
  • The customer preferred the RTX 5000 ADA for near-max VRAM, stability with their programs, high general-purpose GPU compute, and controlled power draw.
  • The overall design of the build meant that a 1200W power supply was recommended.
  • We used one of our mid-tower cases to fit the build.
  • We used our high-end fans to ensure proper airflow and static pressure.

Customer Review

“Chris is very professional and worked through our configuration and application needs prior to purchasing.

The proposed configuration has been working great for us and has we have noticed a double digit percentage gain in productivity.”
