This build is designed around a 6-core Ryzen 5 9600X processor and onboard graphics.

Software Workload/Customer Need

This customer needed a powerful new workstation to handle their growing professional workload that would last a long time.

This system is designed for downloading and transferring large files. Solid stability was needed, but no heavy-duty processing would be done.

This build is similar to our Ryzen 9000 SFF Workstation.

Design Rationale

  • The Ryzen 5 9600X gave the customer a good amount of single-core performance for general use.
  • To ensure the CPU runs at full speed, air cooling is recommended.
  • The customer wanted a stable motherboard with a good amount of desktop functionality.
  • For the relatively low-power requirements, we recommended 32GB of memory.
  • We recommended a single 2TB NVME, to save on cost and give the customer a decent amount of local storage
  • The customer does not need a dedicated video card.
  • The overall design of the build meant that a 850W power supply was recommended.
  • We used a SFF case to fit the build.
