Design Rationale

  • The i9-12900K had the highest single-core performance at the time. Being that the application is mostly single-core, and the customer wasn’t doing any heavy FEA work, the i9 was the best choice.
  • Liquid cooling was needed to keep the i9 as cold as possible, to run as fast as possible.
  • The customer wanted a stable motherboard, Asus and Gigabyte are our preferred board suppliers.
  • The customer wanted at least 64GB of RAM, and they didn’t want last-gen technology.
  • The customer was fine with our default storage setup.
  • The application prefers a professional video card for best stability, and the customer used their previous build from us (The Atlantic) and our Demo PC to determine that they didn’t need much VRAM.
  • The overall design of the build meant that an 850W Gold power supply was more than adequate.
  • We used our default mid-tower case as nothing more was required.
  • We used high-pressure fans to ensure proper cooling on the 360mm AIO.
