This build is designed around a 12-core Ryzen 9 7900X and an RTX 4090 24GB video card.

Software Workload/Customer Need

This customer needed a powerful new gaming PC that would last a long time.

This build is designed for 4K/240hz gaming in WoW and newer games.

This build was influenced by Dirty Durham and our 4K/240hz Gaming Computer.

Design Rationale

  • The Ryzen 9 7900X gave the customer a great amount of single-core performance for gaming and general use, and multicore performance for heavily-threaded tasks.
  • To ensure the CPU runs at full speed, liquid cooling with a 360mm cooler is recommended.
  • The customer wanted a stable motherboard with a good amount of desktop functionality.
  • The customer wanted at least 64GB of RAM, and didn’t want last-gen tech. RGB was preferred.
  • The customer appreciated our recommendation of a 2TB NVME OS drive and 4TB NVME main storage drive.
  • The customer was fine with our recommended video card.
  • The overall design of the build meant that an 1200W power supply was recommended.
  • We used our bigger mid-tower case to fit the build, white by customer preference.
  • We used our white RGB fans to ensure proper airflow and static pressure.
