This build is designed around a Ryzen 5 2600X and an RTX 2060 6GB video card.

Software Workload/Customer Need

This customer needed a powerful new workstation to handle their growing professional workload that would last a long time. This build is designed for 1080p gaming, VR, light video editing, and some streaming.

This build was influenced by Computron 9001.

Video Card (GPU): Zotac RTX 2060 6GB

Design Rationale

  • The Ryzen 5 2600X gave the customer a good amount of single-core performance for gaming and editing, and multicore performance for heavily-threaded tasks.
  • To ensure the CPU runs at full speed, air cooling with a single-tower cooler was recommended.
  • The customer wanted a cost-effective stable motherboard.
  • The customer wanted at least 16GB of RAM, 32GB was an easy upgrade.
  • The customer was fine with our default storage setup.
  • The RTX 2060 delivered solid 1080p gaming performance, and was a good value for editing.
  • The overall design of the build meant that a 550W power supply was recommended.
  • We used one of our default mid-tower cases to fit the build.
  • We used our default aftermarket fans to ensure proper airflow and static pressure.
