Hyperion One is a day trading workstation, designed around a 6-core Ryzen 5 5600X processor and a Radeon Pro W6600 8GB video card.

General System Design

This build is designed around a 6-core Ryzen 5 5600X processor and a Radeon Pro W6600 8GB video card.

Software Workload/Customer Need

This customer needed a powerful new day trading workstation to handle their growing professional workload that would last a long time. They also needed something with support for multiple 1440p monitors and was very easy to transport as needed.

This build was influenced by Nautilus.

CPU Cooler: EK EK-AIO Basic 240

Motherboard: Gigabyte X570 AORUS PRO WIFI

Memory: Kingston Fury Beast 2x16GB DDR4-3200

Storage (SSD): Kingston KC2500 500GB Gen3 NVME

Video Card (GPU): AMD Radeon PRO W6600 8GB

Power Supply (PSU): Silverstone 700W 80+ Platinum

Case: Sliger Cerberus X

Fans: 4x Noctua NF-F12 PWM Black

Design Rationale

  • The Ryzen 5 5600X gave the customer a great amount of single-core performance for general use, and multicore performance for heavily-threaded tasks.
  • To ensure the CPU runs at full speed, air cooling with a single-tower cooler is recommended. The small case used in this build limits the height of air coolers, so we used a 240mm AIO.
  • The customer wanted a stable motherboard with a good amount of desktop functionality.
  • The customer wanted at least 32GB of RAM, 64GB was an easy upgrade.
  • The customer wanted a single 500GB NVME drive.
  • We recommended the Radeon PRO W6600 8GB for multi-monitor support, multi-GPU design, and low power draw for the budget.
  • The overall design of the build meant that a 700W power supply was recommended.
  • We used a very small mid-tower case to fit the build, as requested by the customer.
  • We used our default fans to ensure proper airflow and static pressure.
