Software Workload/Customer Need

This customer needed a set of 2 powerful new workstations to handle their growing professional workload that would last a long time.

These builds are designed for photogrammetry and CAD. This build was designed specifically for AgTek, Trimble Business Center, Civil 3D, and AutoCAD.

This build was influenced by The Dirt Jedi 2 and our i9 Laser Scanning Workstation.

Design Rationale

  • The i9-13900K gave the customer a great amount of single-core performance for lightly-threaded tasks, and multicore performance for heavily-threaded tasks.
  • To ensure the CPU runs at full speed, liquid cooling with a 360mm liquid cooler is recommended.
  • The customer wanted a stable motherboard with a good amount of desktop functionality.
  • The customer wanted to start with 128GB of RAM, 192GB was an easy upgrade.
  • The customer was fine with our default storage recommendation.
  • The customer preferred the RTX 4090 for maximum general-purpose GPU compute, and a large amount of VRAM.
  • The overall design of the build meant that a 1200W power supply was recommended.
  • We used our bigger mid-tower case to fit the build.
  • We used our highest-end fans to ensure proper airflow and static pressure.
