This system is designed for use in Pix4D, Global Mapper, Trimble Business Center, and Civil 3D.

This customer also purchased Bunsen and Beaker, Bert, Ernie, Cookie Monster, and Oscar The Grouch.

Design Rationale

  • The i9-12900K gave the customer a great amount of single-core performance for modeling, and multicore performance for heavily-threaded tasks.
  • To ensure the CPU runs at full speed, liquid cooling with a 360mm AIO is recommended.
  • The customer wanted a stable motherboard with a good amount of desktop functionality.
  • The customer wanted at least 64GB of RAM, and preferred save some money with last-gen tech.
  • The customer was fine with our default storage setup.
  • For processing heavy LIDAR data, we typically recommend the RTX 3090 as a professional-grade GPU isn’t necessary. At the time, the pricing on the A5000 made it a more sensible purchase than the 3090, and they were both 24GB cards.
  • The overall design of the build meant that a 850W power supply was recommended.
  • We used our default mid-tower case to fit the build.
  • We used our high-end fans to ensure proper airflow and static pressure.
