Design Rationale

  • The i7-12700K gave the customer a great amount of single-core performance for editing, and multicore performance for heavily-threaded tasks.
  • To ensure the CPU runs at full speed, air cooling with a dual-tower cooler is recommended. Liquid cooling is more powerful, but not quite as reliable.
  • The customer wanted a stable motherboard with a good amount of desktop functionality.
  • The customer wanted at least 32GB of RAM, 64GB was an easy upgrade.
  • The customer requested a 1TB NVME for OS and 4TB effective NVME for main storage. Pricing on 4TB NVME drives was not as good as 2x2TB NVME at time of building, so we did 2x2TB.
  • The customer requested the RTX A4000 for unique streaming functionality.
  • The overall design of the build meant that a 850W power supply was recommended.
  • We used a smaller mid-tower case to fit the build.
  • We used high-end fans to ensure proper airflow and static pressure.
  • The customer requested specific capture cards for their needs.
