Design Rationale

  • The Ryzen 5 2600X gave the customer a good amount of single-core performance for gaming, and multicore performance for heavily-threaded tasks.
  • To ensure the CPU runs at full speed, air cooling with at least a single tower cooler is recommended. Dual tower is not necessary for a CPU of this heat output, nor is liquid cooling.
  • The customer wanted a stable motherboard with a good amount of desktop functionality.
  • The customer wanted to start with 16GB of RAM, 32GB was an easy upgrade.
  • The customer was fine with our default storage setup.
  • For the use case, we recommended the GTX 1660Ti.
  • The overall design of the build meant that a 650W power supply was recommended.
  • We used our default mid-tower case to fit the build.
  • We used our default fans to ensure proper airflow and static pressure.
