This build is designed around a 24-core Core Ultra 285K processor and an RTX 4070 Super 12GB video card.

Software Workload/Customer Need

This customer needed a new CAD workstation to handle their growing workload that would last a long time.

This build was designed for Autodesk Fusion in a CNC machine shop.

This build was influenced by Gary Laser Eyes.

Design Rationale

  • The Core Ultra 9 285K gave the customer a great amount of single-core performance for general use, and multicore performance for heavily-threaded tasks.
  • To ensure the CPU runs at full speed, liquid cooling with a 360mm cooler is recommended.
  • The customer wanted a stable motherboard with a good amount of desktop functionality.
  • The customer was fine with our recommended memory setup.
  • The customer was fine with our recommended storage setup.
  • The customer was fine with our recommended video card.
  • We recommended a 850W power supply based on the design of the build.
  • We used our regular mid-tower case for solid airflow and minimalistic design.
