Software Workload/Customer Need

This customer was looking for a new powerful 1080p/144hz gaming computer that would last a long time and be easily upgraded over time. This build was also designed for live streaming.

This build influenced Black Lightning.

Design Rationale

  • The Ryzen 5 2600 gave the customer a good amount of single-core performance for gaming, and multicore performance for heavily-threaded tasks.
  • To ensure the CPU runs at full speed, air cooling with a single-tower cooler is recommended. The customer preferred liquid cooling with a 240mm AIO for visual appeal.
  • The customer wanted a stable motherboard with a good amount of desktop functionality.
  • The customer wanted at least 16GB of RAM, and wanted RGB for visual appeal.
  • The customer was fine with our default storage setup.
  • The customer was fine with our recommended video card
  • The overall design of the build meant that a 550W power supply was recommended.
  • The customer requested a specific case for the build.
  • We used our high-end RGB fans to ensure proper airflow and static pressure.
