Software Workload/Customer Need

This customer wanted a powerful 4K/144hz gaming PC that would last a long time.

This customer had a bad experience with a larger vendor previously, several build issues and support problems. He wanted to support a local business with his next purchase, and found us online.

This build was influenced by our 4K/144hz Gaming Computer.

Design Rationale

  • We started with a Ryzen 7 7800X3D, the customer agreed with our option to upgrade to a Ryzen 7 9800X3D for long-term performance.
  • To ensure the CPU runs at full speed, and ensure that the CPU isn’t preheated by the GPU, a 360mm liquid cooler is recommended.
  • The customer wanted a stable motherboard with a good amount of desktop functionality and a current-gen chipset.
  • While the customer only needed 32GB RAM initially, they agreed with our option to upgrade to 64GB for long-term performance.
  • The customer requested a Gen5 NVME for long-term performance, and they didn’t need as much capacity as we default to.
  • The customer agreed with our recommendation for an RTX 5080 16GB.
  • We recommended a 1200W power supply based on the overall design of the build.
  • The customer requested a specific case.
