This build is designed around a 16-core i9-12900K processor and an RTX 3090 24GB video card.

Software Workload/Customer Need

This customer was looking for a new powerful gaming computer. This build was also designed for video editing, music production, terrain mapping, and GPS programming.

This customer saw our work on Sudden Storm and wanted a similar design.

Design Rationale

  • The i9-12900K gave the customer a great amount of single-core performance for gaming and editing, and multicore performance for heavily-threaded tasks.
  • To ensure the CPU runs at full speed, liquid cooling with a 360mm AIO is recommended. The customer preferred a model with RGB.
  • The customer wanted a stable motherboard with a good amount of desktop functionality.
  • The customer wanted at least 64GB of RAM, wanted to save money with last-gen tech, and wanted 4 DIMMs with RGB.
  • The customer upgraded the main drive from 1TB to 2TB.
  • We recommended the RTX 3090 for ideal gaming and editing performance.
  • The overall design of the build meant that a 1000W power supply was recommended.
  • We used our high-visibility mid-tower case to fit the build.
  • We used our high-end RGB fans to ensure proper airflow and static pressure.
