General System Design

This build is designed around a 6-core i7-8700K processor and a GTX 1080Ti 11GB video card.

Software Workload/Customer Need

This customer was looking to salvage their previous 1440p/144hz gaming computer from us, The Racers Edge, after a house flood.

We were able to reuse most of the existing parts, moving the build into a new case.

Video Card (GPU): (existing) EVGA GTX 1080Ti 11GB FTW3

Power Supply (PSU): (existing) EVGA SuperNOVA G2 650W

Case: Corsair 5000D Airflow Black

Fans: 9x Corsair LL120 RGB

Accessories: Corsair Commander Pro, Corsair Lighting Node Pro

Design Rationale

  • We used the existing CPU.
  • We used the existing CPU cooler.
  • We used the existing motherboard.
  • We used the existing memory. The customer had upgraded the memory since the original Racers Edge build.
  • We used the existing storage setup.
  • We used the existing video card.
  • We used the existing power supply.
  • We used a bigger mid-tower case to fit the build.
  • We used our high-end RGB fans to ensure proper airflow and static pressure.
