This build is designed around two 18-core Xeon Gold 6354 processors and an RTX A6000 48GB video card.

Software Workload/Customer Need

This customer needed a powerful new digital asset development workstation to handle their growing professional workload.

This system is designed in particular for Reality Capture, 3DSMax, Zbrush, VRay, Unreal Engine, Rhino3D, Creative Cloud, VR, Premiere, and After Effects.

This customer appreciated our efforts on Super Tower of Power.

Design Rationale

  • The Xeon Gold 6354s give the customer a great amount of single-core performance for modeling, and multicore performance for heavily-threaded tasks.
  • To ensure the CPUs runs at full speed, air cooling with a single-tower cooler is recommended. Liquid cooling is more powerful, but not quite as reliable.
  • The customer wanted a stable motherboard with a good amount of desktop functionality.
  • The customer wanted at least 512GB of ECC RAM, 1TB was an easy upgrade.
  • The customer requested 2 2TB NVME drives.
  • The customer was fine with our recommended video card.
  • The overall design of the build meant that a 1600W power supply was recommended.
  • We used our default full-tower case to fit the build.
  • We used our highest-end fans to ensure proper airflow and static pressure.

“Provided Chris with list of applications that needed to be supported and came up with specifications to support the business problem. Workstation was designed to support SBIR proposal for DTRA.

It needed offline power to process Laser Scanning, Photogrammetry datasets, Machine Learning and AI programs. Workstation would also would showcase to clients Realtime photorealistic training scenes in Epic’s Unreal Engine.

Built around RTX A6000 and the 48 Gigabytes of VRAM that is used heavily in path tracing and AI software. Stable Diffusion, Whisper that can be processed locally.

Configured with Dual CPU’s to support some legacy files built in 3DS Max, VRay, and Phoenix.”
