This build is designed around a 12-core Ryzen 9 9900X processor and an RTX 5070Ti 16GB video card.

Software Workload/Customer Need

This customer needed a powerful new workstation to handle their growing professional workload that would last a long time.

This build was designed for Rhino and Lumion in a landscape architecture business.

This customer previously purchased Render Unto Caesar, Et Tu Brute, Veni Vidi Vici, and Thaumazo.

Design Rationale

  • The Ryzen 9 9900X gave the customer a great amount of single-core performance for modeling and multicore performance for heavily-threaded tasks.
  • To ensure the CPU runs at full speed, liquid cooling with is recommended.
  • The customer wanted a stable motherboard with a good amount of desktop functionality.
  • The customer wanted at least 64GB of RAM.
  • While we recommended our baseline storage setup, the customer was fine with a single-drive setup.
  • We initially recommended the RTX 5070 12GB as a minimum, the customer opted for more VRAM.
  • The overall design of the build meant that a 850W Gold power supply was recommended.
  • We used our regular mid-tower case to fit the build.
