Design Rationale

  • The Ryzen 9 9950X3D gave the customer a great amount of single-core performance for editing and modeling, and multicore performance for heavily-threaded tasks. The lower power draw and heat output (vs Core Ultra) also helps this CPU in a space-constrained build.
  • To ensure the CPU runs at full speed, liquid cooling with a 360mm liquid cooler is recommended.
  • The customer wanted a stable motherboard with a good amount of desktop functionality.
  • The customer agreed with our recommendation for memory.
  • The customer requested a 4TB OS drive and 8TB main storage drive.
  • The customer agreed with our recommendation on the video card.
  • We recommended an 850W power supply based on the overall build. Due to the system being used primarily as a DAW, a higher-power GPU would likely not be installed.
  • The customer requested a specific micro-ATX case.
