This build is designed around a 8-core Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor and an RTX 5080 16GB video card.

Software Workload/Customer Need

This customer wanted a powerful 4K/144hz gaming PC that would last a long time.

This build was designed for iRacing and Microsoft Flight Simulator, with a full-motion simulator and 3 large TVs.

This customer preferred working with a local vendor for easier support (if necessary) and wanted a professional builder to handle the spec and assembly.

This build was influenced by our 4K/144hz Gaming Computer and Phaelon.

Design Rationale

  • The Ryzen 7 9800X3D gave the customer a great amount of single-core performance for lightly-threaded workloads, and multicore performance for heavily-threaded tasks.
  • To ensure the CPU runs at full speed, and ensure that the CPU isn’t preheated by the GPU, a 360mm liquid cooler is recommended.
  • The customer wanted a stable motherboard with a good amount of desktop functionality and a current-gen chipset.
  • The customer agreed with our recommendation on memory.
  • The customer agreed with our recommendation on storage.
  • The customer agreed with our recommendation for an RTX 5080 16GB.
  • We recommended a 1000W power supply based on the overall design of the build.
  • We used our default larger mid-tower case to fit the parts and give solid airflow.
