Design Rationale

  • Being that SolidWorks is mostly single-core, and the customer wanted a good platform for possible heavy FEA work in the future, the i9-10900X was the best choice.
  • Liquid cooling was needed to keep the i9 as cold as possible, to run as fast as possible.
  • The customer wanted a stable motherboard, Asus and Gigabyte are our preferred board suppliers.
  • The customer wanted at least 32GB of RAM, which has since been updated to 64GB.
  • The customer was fine with our default storage setup.
  • The application prefers a professional video card for best stability. The customer didn’t want a last-gen video card, and lower-end next-gen cards weren’t available yet. The RTX A5000 24GB was the most sensible option at the time.
  • The overall design of the build meant that an 850W Gold power supply was more than adequate.
  • We used our default mid-tower case as nothing more was required.
  • We used high-pressure fans to ensure proper cooling on the 360mm AIO.

Customer Review

“I worked with Chris on my latest CAD PC for my engineering business, and I am blown away by the level of service I received. Chris took the time upfront to discuss my current and future needs to make sure he was quoting me the system best suited for me with the ability to upgrade down the road.

I never felt like he was pushing me into buying something I didn’t need. Chris sincerely wants to help his clients and not just make a quick sell. Chris did an amazing job communicating throughout the build about the supply chain issues and was flexible with offering a solution.

I’ll definitely be using Chris again and recommend him to anyone needing a workstation or gaming PC. Top notch work from Top Flight Computers!”
