Description

The Golden Computer is a golf simulator gaming computer, designed around a 16-core i7-13700K processor and an RTX 4090 24GB video card.

General System Design

This build is designed around a 16-core i7-13700K processor and an RTX 4090 24GB video card.

Software Workload/Customer Need

This customer was looking for a new powerful computer for golf simulation via a 4K laser DLP projector to a 12′ x 9′ screen.

This build was designed in particular for Uneekor Eye XO and GSPro. Special attention was paid to twin ethernet ports for connection to the motion tracker, and more USB ports for various gaming devices.

This build was influenced by our 4K/240hz Gaming Computer.

Design Rationale

  • The i7-13700K gave the customer a great amount of single-core performance for gaming and multicore performance for heavily-threaded tasks.
  • To ensure the CPU runs at full speed, air cooling with a dual-tower cooler is recommended.
  • The customer wanted a stable motherboard with a good amount of desktop functionality, twin ethernet ports, and lots of  USB ports. We also picked a USB expansion card for extra ports.
  • The customer wanted at least 32GB of RAM and didn’t want last-gen tech.
  • The customer was fine with our default storage setup.
  • Based on the performance needs, we recommended the RTX 4090 24GB.
  • The overall design of the build meant that a 1200W power supply was recommended.
  • We used a bigger mid-tower case to fit the build.
  • We used our highest-end fans to ensure proper airflow and static pressure.
