Design Rationale

  • The Core Ultra 9 285K gave the customer a great amount of single-core performance for editing and modeling, and multicore performance for heavily-threaded tasks. It also handles high amounts of memory better than Ryzen 9000.
  • To ensure the CPU runs at full speed, liquid cooling with a 360mm liquid cooler is recommended.
  • The customer wanted a stable motherboard with a good amount of desktop functionality.
  • The customer requested 128GB of memory.
  • The customer requested twin 4TB NVME drives.
  • We recommended an RTX 5080 16GB for GPU rendering power, while staying in budget.
  • While the overall design of the build only needed a 1200W PSU, we recommended a 1500W to readily allow for an RTX 5090 in the future.
  • We used our bigger mid-tower case to fit the build.

Customer Review

“Wish I had my custom built computer made with Chris sooner.

The speeds are substantially faster than my Mac for video editing and motion graphics. Also it looks amazing and barely makes a sound.

Chris was also patient with me during the sales process.

I had a lot of questions and took a long time to decide when the time was right, but he was professional and courteous the entire time.”
