This build is designed around a 6-core Ryzen 5 1600 processor and a GTX 1070 8GB video card.

Software Workload/Customer Need

This customer was looking for a new powerful 1080p/144hz gaming computer that would last a long time and be easily upgraded over time. This build was also designed for live streaming.

This customer also purchased YemFlyer v2.

Design Rationale

  • The Ryzen 5 1600 gave the customer a good amount of single-core performance for gaming, and multicore performance for heavily-threaded tasks.
  • To ensure the CPU runs at full speed, air cooling with at least a single-tower cooler is recommended. Dual-tower cooler is more powerful, but not needed.
  • The customer wanted a stable motherboard with a good amount of desktop functionality.
  • The customer wanted at least 16GB of RAM, 32GB was an easy upgrade.
  • The customer was fine with our default storage setup.
  • For ideal gaming performance, we recommended the GTX 1070.
  • We recommended a 650W power supply with a slightly lower efficiency rating to stay in budget.
  • We used a mid-tower case to fit the build.
