Core Ultra 9 Visual Effects Workstation Overview
This Core Ultra 9 Visual Effects workstation is built around the Core Ultra 9 285K with an RTX 5080 16GB video card.
This combination provides a very powerful solution for modeling, editing, and final rendering.
This workstation is designed for use in applications such as 3DS Max, Maya, Blender, Cinema4D, Houdini, and ZBrush.
Core Ultra 9 Visual Effects Workstation Upgrades/Changes
If your application benefits from a Pro GPU driver, we recommend the RTX 5000 ADA 32GB, RTX 6000 ADA 48GB, or RTX 6000 Blackwell 96GB.
If you need more than 256GB of RAM, we recommend a build based on Threadripper, as it supports ECC memory. 384GB is the highest we can go on Threadripper non-Pro, without resorting to EXTREMELY expensive 128GB or 256GB DIMMs. 768GB is the highest we can normally go on Threadripper Pro, for the same reasons. 2.25TB is the highest we can go on dual-EPYC, for the same reasons.
Core Ultra 9 Visual Effects Workstation Limitations
This platform is currently limited to 24 threads, 1 GPU, and 256GB of memory. 2-GPU setups are available, though they do require the use of a high-end motherboard. Please let us know if you need a more robust platform.
