Ryzen 9 Game Development Workstation Overview
This Ryzen 9 Game Development Workstation is built around the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X with an RTX 5080 16GB video card.
This combination provides a very powerful overall solution for modeling and editing, particularly for applications such as 3DS Max, Maya, Blender, Cinema 4D, Houdini, Nuke, and ZBrush.
Ryzen 9 Game Development Workstation Upgrades/Changes
If your workflow benefits from a professional-grade GPU, we recommend the RTX Pro 4500 Blackwell 32GB or RTX Pro 5000 Blackwell 48GB.
If you need more than 256GB of RAM, we recommend a build based on Threadripper, as it supports ECC memory. 384GB is the highest we can go on Threadripper non-Pro, without resorting to EXTREMELY expensive 128GB or 256GB DIMMs. 768GB is the highest we can normally go on Threadripper Pro, for the same reasons. 2.25TB is the highest we can go on dual-EPYC, for the same reasons.
Ryzen 9 Game Development Workstation Limitations
This platform is currently limited to 32 threads, 1 GPU, and 256GB of memory. Please let us know if you need a more robust platform.
