Threadripper Pro 9000 Laser Scanning Workstation Overview
This Threadripper Pro 9000 Laser Scanning Workstation is built around the Threadripper Pro 9995WX with an RTX 5070 12GB video card.
This combination provides a very powerful solution for heavy workloads applications such as NavVis IVION that scale extremely well with cores, can use very large amounts of RAM, don’t need lots of GPU power, and are optimized for AMD.
Our Threadripper Pro Photogrammetry Workstation is a similar build, with less CPU and RAM (and more GPU).
Threadripper Pro 9000 Laser Scanning Workstation Upgrades/Changes
If you need more than 12GB of VRAM, we recommend the RTX 5080 16GB, RTX 4500 ADA 24GB, RTX 5000 ADA 32GB, RTX 5090 32GB, RTX 6000 ADA 48GB, or RTX Pro 6000 Blackwell 96GB.
768GB of RAM is the highest we can go on Threadripper Pro, without resorting to EXTREMELY expensive 128GB or 256GB DIMMs. 2.25TB of RAM is the highest we can go on EPYC 9005, for the same reasons.
Threadripper Pro 9000 Laser Scanning Workstation Limitations
This platform is currently limited to 192 threads, 4 GPUs, and 2TB of memory. Please let us know if you need a more robust platform.
